A record that always reminds you of Ibiza

“El Gallo Negro” by Loco Dice and “Party Don’t Stop” by Pirupa who played one of our parties recently and was incredible

The dish that reminds me of my childhood

Russian Salad

Who taught you to cook?

I picked it up from the cooking books we had around the house growing up and when I was very young I had a boyfriend who was into cooking so we used to experiment a lot…I mean in the kitchen of course!

What is your favorite 3 restaurants in Barcelona?

La Fonda!!!! (Absolutely amazing paella and fish), El Rodizio which is just the best if you want to eat unlimited meat in cooked in a Brazilian style…and the restaurant at Hotel Arts where you can experience 5* star dining and impress your guests

A32051

And your favourite in London?

Cipriani, Gaucho and Nobu are all must visits!

A DJ that has surprised you with their cooking skills…

I haven’t experienced that yet. In general, since I started with the label I haven’t had any time to cook for friends or do any cooking at all these days. With my friends these days we usually go to the restaurants or let someone else cook while we are busy with the music

Your guilty pleasure food. You know you shouldn’t but you always do…

Pasta, noodles and everything in that category. I just can’t give it up

What is your signature dish?

Seafood pasta and roast lamb are my specialties but however back in a days my Caribbean curry goat was signature dish at my dinner parties

If you could have a master-class with a celebrity chef, who’d you pick and why?

Nigela Wilson I guess, as I have lots of her cooking books and love her recipes

Your perfect dinner party guests…

Loco Dice, Dubfire and Ricardo Vilalobos

A dish you have yet to master…

Well there are lots of them of course as I am not cooking much these days, but I always wanted to learn Thai cuisine as I love eating it

Your favorite pizza topping

Mimosa (white sauce and spicy double pepperoni) – it is just the best!

A dish you just cannot stomach

I can’t stand uncooked celery, it makes me sick. But in general I can eat anything as long as it’s seasoned and flavored properly. I am really not fussy when it comes to eating but I hate bland and boring food. Everything can be made to taste nice with some love and care and the right seasoning! It’s so easily done!

The country you love returning to, to sample their cuisine…

Thailand and Brazil – the cuisine and restaurants in these countries are incredible, so fresh and amazing flavors. I also think Ibiza has some of the best restaurants in the world, really. Some of the places I take the guests at our club night to are amazing

My favorite restaurant on the island…

Cipriani Destino. It is an amazing restaurant that serves some of the best food on the island. Also it’s at the same location as my night Love The Underground Records presents Mikaela and Friends. So it’s perfect for me as I can bring all our guest DJs here and make sure they are well fed before they play the club. Ca’n Pilot is another favorite of mine in Ibiza; the food and family feel of the place is unrivalled anywhere on the island. It’s where you can get real authentic , local cuisine and its always got such a buzz to the place

The best sunset spot for a cold drink…

Sunset Ashram at Cala Comta. It’s on the South West corner of the island, really chilled and less touristy than a lot of spots on the island and a really great place to get away from it all.

Your favorite Ibiza dish

Paella, steak and pasta of course

The perfect 24 hours in Ibiza would be…

Wake up with breakfast watermelon, check out some new tracks in bed for a few hours without having my phone and emails on, go for a jet ski or boat trip to Fomentera with a good sound system on it and play some new tracks, some pasta for lunch with friends, sunbathing with my music blasting, spa, steak for dinner and catching up with some gossips…and all night in a studio making new Music!!! Sounds perfect!
